A TALE OF TWO TOILETS

I was at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile-Ife (my alma mater) some few days ago to get some referral documentations.
I was so impressed at the developments and positive changes that had taken place since the last time I was there. The one that particularly caught my fancy were the number of  'new Generation Banks' that had been structured inside the campuses. The structures reminded me of the good old days when it was just OAU Community bank and Wema Bank that operated inside the campus.
As soon I was done at my faculty, I headed straight for the "town 'gbooro' shuttle buses but I thought it a good idea to "pee" before embarking on a journey of 3 to 4 hours. Since I had already left the Faculty area, my only option was to use the rest room of one of these new generation banks.
I decided use a stone to kill two birds by perfoming some transactions at the bank(so that at least it wont be too obvious that i have solely come to make use of the Bank's rest room and not reallly to perform any transaction.) The banks were in a row and I entered into the first bank, did some banking transaction and asked the security guy to direct me to where the rest room was located, he pointed at a door next to the security post at the gate...I had my reservations but I decided to visit the place.. I practically ran out after entering, the sight was not one to behold at all... it was a messed up toilet with no tissue paper to say the least and the likes of what is to be seen in an ideal toilet.

I put myself together and thought to myself "why dont I head for another bank, at least one that i was a full fledged customer???" I headed for another bank in the same row and immediately asked for directions to the rest room. I was impressed with the sight of the rest room, everything was sparking white, tissue paper, handwash, hand dryer, airfreshner, hand cream all in place. Ask me if I used the rest room or not???

I am sure you are already wondering what my tale of a clean and unclean toilet is all about. The morale of my tale is not really about these toilets but about you (yes, you reading this right now)and also about me,"the tale bearer".By the time I was through in the rest room, the whole incident got me thinking and the question that I kept hearing in my spirit man was " 'Teju, which one are you???the unclean toilet or the clean toilet???Will God run out of my life exactly the way I ran out of the unclean toilet because my life is in an unclean state (a "sinful" one at that) and the great book says that only the holy ones shall see God,Hebrews 12 v. 14. Or is he pleased with the state of my life exactly the way I was pleased with the sight of the clean toilet. This episode also reminds me of an ancient proverb that says "cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Folks, this is a call to holiness (cleanliness). We need to check our lives on a daily basis and see that we are not harbouring any kind of sin and that we are not silently sending away the Holyspirit or the trinity from our lives and our affairs. Our God is holy and so as his children, we need to strive, day in day out to be as holy as our father is ...1 Peter 1 v. 16.

WHICH ONE ARE YOU???
THE UNCLEAN TOILET OR THE CLEAN TOILET???

With love and prayers,
omoba adeteju.

Nice, AdeTeju.I'm grateful God is love. The bible says while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So whoever is willing to let him in, no matter how dirty the state of such a person's heart is, He is willing to purge and make as white as snow!

Hmmm.....UNCLEAN!...I BELIEVE HE WOULD CLEAN ME UP, INSTEAD OF RUNNING AWAY because HE knew me when i was newly built [created], i was sparkling, clean, smelt nice UNTIL, the specie called the HUMAN SAPIENS messed me up badly that i have become WHAT I AM! & in HIM do i have the hope of being WASHED thoroughly of all my impurities someday, WHEN HE EVENTUALLY WALKS INTO THE TOILET SEEING MY PITIABLE SITUATION!

HE did not come for the clean, but the UNCLEAN like me! Tnxx sis, an inspiring post..shalom.
